Prolec was founded in 1960 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, steadily growing to become a pioneering force in the  energy sector. In 1995, Xignux and General Electric established a joint venture dedicated to power transformer manufacturing:  Prolec GE. As a proud member of the Xignux Group, with more than 60 years of experience in the creation of comprehensive solutions to meet the needs of power generation, transmission, and distribution, we are dedicated to providing innovative solutions that power progress and drive sustainable growth.

Prolec Began Operations

Prolec began operations in 1969 with the acquisition of IEI (Industrial Electrical Engineering), a small factory producing medium-power electrical transformers and distribution in Mexico City.

Productos Industriales CM

Prolec's operations were relocated to Nuevo León, in northeastern Mexico, where a new plant was inaugurated: Productos Industriales CM, now Prolec GE. This marks the first production of distribution transformers in Mexico.
